Default Any way to Reboot/Restart Yoga Class Offerings?

Some of us, may have had a long term class offering, and want to make the class worth our time.

Some of my relatives suggested to me that to end a particular class offering at the end of a natural time (say end of year).

Then those who are upset or want to continue, say that you are going to offer yoga again, but I'd need a doctors acknowledgement that you are doing yoga, offering up yoga to those who are going to pay a bit more for their yoga practice....something to that effect.

How would someone reboot/restart their yoga class offerings, to make it more financially acceptable?

Thoughts?

Thank you! Gaileee

Gailee, I haven't a clue as to what you are talking about.

Could you help me out a little bit here?

I reboot my computer.

I've never heard of rebooting a yoga class.

Is that a yoga term?

Harlan

Reboot/Restart.

I have a class that I'm teaching at a low rate. I want to up that rate. How do I artfully reboot/restart that class? (Can't teach privates at this time, so that isn't an option available to me.)

Thanks!

"I'll make him an offer he can't refuse."
- Guru Don Corleone

You figure out the price you wish you could get, but probably won't.

Then you come up with an offer that is less than the published price
before your sessions end.

Then push reboot and watch what happens.

I think.

PS. There is no one at home here.

Default Raising prices

Hi Gailee

I taught a class through the Parks & Rec department for 5 years. I raised the prices for those classes several times. I agree with your relatives that a 'natural' end is a good time to do that. I would usually do it when a new Activity Guide would come out and advertise the new prices in there. Then I would prepare some handouts for regular students saying something like 'After x time of steady pricing the fee for this class will be go up to y per this date.' No explanation necessary, everybody is used to prices going up, especially these days.

In your case, I would do it per January 1st, because that's when you usually have a large influx of new students, who will be charged the new prices from the get go.

Is this what you were asking?

Default Raising the fee

Hi Galilee,

I teach yoga in small groups, and we get to know each other pretty well.
I raised my fees once in the last five years, and I explained to my students why I was going to charge more.
For some of my committed students, money is a serious issue. Therefore, for an interim period, my invitation cards and flyers said "$50 to $55," with $50 being the old fee.
I was surprised that everybody paid me the new fee right away. But I had given them a choice and they had opted for the new price.

I guess that how you raise your fee depends on whether you have large and more unpersonal classes or whether you teach in small and personal settings.

Gaileee, I mispelled your name. I am sorry about that.
(Do you really have three "e" at the end?)

Yep, three e's.

Use to represent the number of children I have. But, had another one at age 47, so there goes my trademark!

But actually it was a nickname given to me by a fellow trekee. Just stuck. So yoga with gaileee is a rather unique name. (At least I think so.)

Egads!

Going to have a bit of a tough time reboot/restarting the yoga class with Hurricane Ike, just blazing through here, leaving us without our precious electricity!
