Default Sunrise Yoga Welcome Book

There has been some talk about the "Welcome Book" in several posts and on some of the recent phone calls. I thought I would share the table of contents of my Welcome Book.

First of all some background. I run a yoga studio in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. We offer classes 5 days a week and we are soon expanding to 6 days.

Most of the yoga studios in the area are in Halifax which is on the other side of the harbour and about a 30 minute drive away. My studio is the only one on this side of the harbour and we are slowly building a solid membership.

There are lots of other yoga teachers that are teaching in community centres, church basements and gyms and they are charging about 1/2 of what I charge. The other yoga studios charge about the same price that I do.

I use the Welcome book as a marketing tool and an education piece. This Fall I will be sending out a copy to each new person that registers to take classes at the studio. In the past, I have been handing it out once they arrive at the studio. I got the idea to mail it out from the last marketing call we had with Harlan and Sara.

Here is the table of contents:
  1. Welcome
  2. 11 Reasons Why You Would Want to Do Yoga
  3. 6 Core Benefits of Yoga
  4. About Jack
  5. How We Got Started
  6. Our Name
  7. Our Place
  8. Our Culture
  9. Our Classes
  10. The 4 Types of Classes You Can Choose From
  11. Our Pass Card System
  12. 4 Member Benefits
  13. 13 Things That are Unique About Us
  14. Our 12 Commitments
  15. Our Guarantee
  16. 2 Ways You Can Get Started With Us
  17. Who to Refer to Us
  18. Testimonials from our Members
  19. Contact Us

There are pictures through out the book as well.

It is a 32 page booklet (8 sheets printed double sided in color, folded in half and stapled).

Our members use it to give to their friends that they want to come to our yoga classes. They did not know what to say to their friends and this booklet has really helped.

We get about 50% of our new members from referrals, 25% from our website, 7% from our sign on the building and 7% from a periodic flyer distirbution.

Do you have any suggestions for additional information to include in the booklet or information that should be removed.

Jack

Hi Jack,

Great that you are already using a welcome book.

There sure is a lot of information about you but...

there isn't a lot of information about T H E M.

Get more information in there about them and yoga.

This will make your welcome book even more effective.

Peace.

Harlan
