A Message From Sara

Hello Summer Yogi’s

I hope wherever you are, the sun is shining with its glorious rays and its light is nourishing your spirit. Summer is a time of refreshment, a time of outward play and exploration and when the nature god calls us to come out.  It may be coming out of a pattern you may be weaving in your life, reaching to begin something new, ready to break-out into new creative endeavors or simply saying “Yes” to the newness that is appearing before you.

There are so many changes happening in our world and people are feeling these changes. The economy is at a weak point, Gas prices are rising to unbelievable highs, Peoples' businesses are feeling the economic crunch and then there is what is happening in other countries.

Here in the United States and Canada we are so fortunate to live with all our many luxuries and the freedom we have on a daily basis. Elsewhere, there are troops going to battle, bomb threats being made, children going unfed and homeless, people being dictated and ruled by an oppressing government and innocent people dying daily.

There is so much, our eyes are sheltered from and we may only see a part of the truth from our televisions.

It is easy to be immersed in our every day lives and complain about minute things or get depressed over something  your feel justified to let get your spirit down. The world is a beautiful place with many bizarre things taking place at the same time.

What is your ritual for prayer and giving thanks everyday?

This is where yoga is so much more than a sequence of stretching poses or a time to breathe or a part of the day when you sweat and get in a good workout. What does your Yoga Practice mean on a bigger scale. One by one with our spiritual discipline and the intention we consciously create, our thoughts turn to action, our spirits radiate universal togetherness and peace and we begin to join the yoga mandala all over the world by the spiritual vibration you send out in your practice.

Changing our environment around us begins with ourselves and then manifests on a global and unified level. Send out your prayers to countries in need, give thanks for the abundance that arrives before you , no matter how small or big, and meditate on peace and the protection of our mother land (the Earth).

Allow your practice to inspire you beyond the physical and go deeper into what is important to you and  for you to exist in this world. It is very scary what is transforming in the world, however it is extremely powerful the impact each of us can make if we begin with intention and are willfully lead into undeniable action.

Lately I have been hearing so many people complaining or talking negatively about gas prices, low finances or what they may not have that they want.

Yesterday it was one of my clients complaining about not having a nice enough bedroom with a place to hang her clothes and a connected bathroom when she goes to visit her grandchildren.

Today when I was at Whole Foods a man recognized me from a gym I used to teach at. He struck up a conversation and within minutes all he was doing was going on about how difficult life is right now and how his business is suffering and so on.

When I listen to other people’s negative recordings coming alive to my ears, I immediately detach from listening and begin to internally think of everything I am grateful for.

I wanted to tell my client to go spend a month in India and see real suffering and poverty. I wanted to tell him to be thankful he was shopping in Whole Foods and ask him if he has love around him or family. However, I smiled politely and responded with a positive comment.

Sometimes it is not what is going on around us but how we view what is taking place and how we can continue to aspire to follow the constant light that is always brighter than the dark.

Today….What are you grateful for. How do you express this heartfelt gratitude?

May your practice continue to be an outlet of shedding negative energy or lingering thoughts and may your yoga lead you to a place of unity, gratefulness, constant appreciation and inspire you to change what you have the power to.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

Jai Radhe

Marketing Over The Summer

For many businesses, marketing is more challenging over the summer.  Many of your clients go away on vacations.  Some families are busy with children out of school.  People spend their spare time at the beach and yoga may not be in the forefront of their mind.

So what do you do when your business slows...

#1: Market to your current or former customers.  This is usually your best source of income.  Market a package of sessions where you get paid up front for sessions they have a few months or up to a year to redeem.  Give them a discount so they will be willing to pay you up front for the package.

#2: Stress Weight Loss For The Swimsuit Season as a motivation.

Secrets To Looking Great This Summer

This is the time of year when everywhere you look you see images of sleek, toned bodies.

It’s also a time when many feel the pressure to resort to crash diets, hoping to fit into a smaller swimsuit size in a few weeks’ time.

It’s also no surprise that weight-loss centers offer specials during the summer months and magazines tout diets that promise losses of 10, 15, and even 20 pounds in less than a month’s time.

Unfortunately, quick-fix and fad diets come with a painful price tag. Only 12% of Americans who lose weight on a crash diet maintain the weight loss for one year.

The rest - 88% - not only gain back the weight much sooner, but many gain back even more than they lost.

The biggest loss that crash diets actually produce is loss of morale. After gaining weight back, demoralized dieters, feeling like failures, abandon all hopes of ever reaching a weight that they can feel healthy and happy about.

Nutrition and medical experts have come down hard on crash diets for these very reasons. Diets can’t produce long-term results because they focus solely on short-term success.

They force you to think about - even count - every bite you eat instead of helping to change the way you think about food. Eating habits are deeply ingrained in our subconscious mind.

Without changing these habits, dieters fall into the same traps of cravings, binging, and emotional eating over and over again.

The reason that so many people resort to crash diets every summer is that there seems to be no other way. Fortunately, that’s no longer the case. Many health professionals, looking for a safe, effective, alternative to diets, have begun recommending a completely different way to lose weight. This revolutionary, anti-diet approach that’s already helped thousands of people lose weight successfully - permanently - is yoga.

“I help clients think and eat like a slim person by programming their subconscious mind,” says Sara Varona, Director of Boca Yoga Training.

“They lose the weight and keep it off long term because they’ve changed their whole relationship with food, mentally as well as physically.”

“With yoga, we increase the ability of the metabolism to process food,” she says.

Sara's clients lose incredible amounts of weight. One of her clients dropped nearly 60 pounds of fat through yoga and healthy eating.

And the most important part is the client has kept the weight off for nearly two years so far.
