The Rooster Who Joined Our Practice Hola Amigos Blessings Costa Rica Goddesses and to all the yogi’s who we connect with through cyber space. I have just returned home two days ago from the amazing country of Costa Rica. WOW and many more WOW’S!!! I want to send out a huge hug to all the all the yoginis who came on the retreat. Thank-you for bringing your optimistic, cheerful spirits, your eagerness to learn Restoraflow, and allowing your hearts to become full blossomed lotus flowers. I was truly blessed at this retreat with such a fantastic group of people. It was thrilling for me to launch Restoraflow giving birth to a creative manifestation that emerged through my practice and from working with my private clients. This retreat was just the beginning of introducing Restoraflow and I am excited about teaching this style of yoga across the globe. We had an amazing time in Costa Rica. The retreat center was perfect. Next month I will be interviewing Rose and Alex who own Vida Asana and you will get a chance to hear so much more about the paradise that they have created. The week was packed with meditation, chanting, 3 hour sadhana session, Restoraflow and dancing. In between, people got to check out Jaco ( the closest town), lay by the pool, go on a canopy tour above the Rain Forest, surf the huge Pacific Ocean waves, and get a wealth of information from Harlan on Marketing. The most spectacular part of The retreat centre was the Yoga Shala. It was surrounded by lush green forest. Beautiful plants grew all around and the Shala was totally exposed to all the elements of nature. There was powerful energy in the Shala. It was blissful to be outside all the time while practicing and teaching. It was a treat to wake up the day before the retreat started and spend 5 hours in the shala, playing and practicing. I could definitely get used to having a yoga shala as my back yard. The family atmosphere at Vida Asana combined with being in Costa Rica made this experience magical. How The Rooster joined our Practice The best memory of the retreat and the most humorous was the rooster that never stopped chanting Cock-A-Doodle-Do. We could not see this lovely bird but he made his presence known on a daily basis. He felt us as we chanted OM. We received Cock-A-Doodle-Do in response. The best part was one day during our morning practice, one of our treasured yoginis, Cheryl, blurted out “can I just let out a loud response to the rooster”. I replied with a definite yes…"if you feel it , go for it." Then we heard it…..Cheryl becoming a rooster in the middle of practice and the rooster responding happily. Everyone exploded with laughter and from that point on The Rooster became a yogi. Even being home I can hear the call of the Rooster faintly in my mind and the laughter of the tribe echoing in the background. Another thrilling memory was going Zip lining and swimming in a water fall. We went to Montezuma, a gorgeous quaint town, for 2 days after the retreat. It took us an hour to get there by boat. We stayed in these adorable little wooden bungalows in the woods. The ocean was across the street and the music of the waves became a loving sound that rocked me to sleep. There were mango trees all around and monkeys playing hide and seek in the trees while taking a moments break to munch on mangos. It was paradise here. I contemplated changing my ticket and nesting there, however all beautiful things transition. I convinced my mom to come zip lining. What an experience. She almost chickened out when she saw what this entailed. She went tandem with a guide and participated in the experience. She hates to fly and is terrified of heights. So this was a big deal for her to say the least. To see the look on her face as she was approaching the wooden platform was priceless. She definitely conquered one of her fears. When we arrived at the waterfalls, I challenged my fear of jumping from a high height into a pool of water. The first jump was small and then the pools continued. I went to explore the second one and without time to think too much….just went for it. What a rush. It was intense but incredible. We ended our journey full circle by returning to Vida Asana where we sat around the table with Alex and his family, sipping on a glass of red wine and sharing stories, and feeling immense laughter pour from bellies. Much love and Gratitude to Siah and Chantel for volunteering at Vida Asana and joning in our retreat. Your energies magnified our retreat experience and your attention and love was appreciated by all. Sue, one of the participants dropped me a note: "I wanted to take a moment to thank you for
putting together such a The next retreat is coming up in Florida in August. I know some of the ladies from Costa Rica are planning on coming and I would love to meet more of you and take a journey down the yoga river of transformation. Come to Florida and join me for the second Restoraflow retreat. You have everything you need available to you in yourself. Remain connected to your brightest light and the inner potency of your vibration of energy. Go inside to become nurtured and then share your blessings…….the divine is always with you. Om m Namah Shivaya love and smiles …..Sara Don't Miss Sara's Next Retreat Ever since Sara announced her RestoraFlow retreat, we were literally hounded by people who wanted to know when she was going to do a retreat in the US.To all those who inquired, Sara has just announced the dates of a four day summer retreat in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The retreat base is literally on the Atlantic Ocean. I'm holding my own marketing seminar there this week and everyone loves the hotel and their neighborhood. At the lunch break, people had to decide whether to jump into the pool or the ocean. Tough decision. Get the details here (and don't delay because there is a limit of 20 places) and a bunch of the teachers from Costa Rica are returning for this retreat as well. (What does that tell you...) If you'd like to speak with Sara about whether this retreat is right for you, just reply to this email with your phone number and time zone and Sara will call you to answer your questions. Changes Coming Up in Craigslist One of my mentoring students, Jenna Lloyd is completing a book about Craigslist. There are a lot of upcoming changes that are going to affect Craigslist in the next few weeks. First, most HTML is going to be eliminated from ads. You are going to see fewer pictures as well. Second, some unscrupulous marketers have been placing SPAM ads on Craigslist peddling their merchandise. New highly intelligent programs have been devised to detect and eliminate these ads. What does this mean to you? Craigslist is dedicated to remaining the voice of the people and is becoming more popular by the week. Your marketing program should include Craigslist and you should post your ad at least once a week. In upcoming months, you will be able to post your ad in more than one locale at a time. This could be significant if you live in an area served by more than one edition. Too Much Yoga For Harlan? I'm exhausted. Last week my wife and I returned home from Sara's retreat in Costa Rica. This week, I'm delivering a marketing seminar on the real estate crisis. On Sunday, I head up to Kripalu for the start of teacher training with Shiva Rea. People think I've flipped my twigs. I apologize for giving you only a short report on Sara's retreat. First, it was amazing meeting all the wonderful yoginis who came with their hearts and their energies to learn Restoraflow. It was amazing watching you fill your thirst for knowledge. Second, it was wonderful meeting so many yoga teachers interested in building their yoga businesses. I loved hearing your plans and would love to bottle your enthusiasm. Third, if you have never done a yoga retreat - do it. I promise you, it will be good for the soul. Wish me luck next week in teacher training! Om Shanti Shalom,![]()
