“When you know who you truly are, there is
an abiding alive sense of peace. You could call it joy because that’s
what joy is: vibrantly alive peace. It is the joy of knowing yourself as
the very life essence before life takes on form. That is the joy of
Being-of being who you truly are.”-Eckhart Tolle. A woman reaches out for Relief, How can Yoga work for her? Last week I met with a girlfriend who is also a yoga teacher. Angie was telling me a story about a young woman she had met at a marketing seminar in Los Angeles. Susie had a very traumatic experience when she was a child. One day, she did something her mother disagreed with and instead of reprimanding her with a time out or by words, she did the unthinkable. Her mother grabbed her and started shaking her. Yes, it sounds a little strange and is a very torturous way to treat your child. As a result of this incident , Susie has had severe neck problems in the years that have followed into her adult life. She is constantly dealing with a tight, aching, stiff neck. Often she is very uncomfortable and has not been able to find very much relief, other than taking the odd muscle relaxer. Throughout the years she mentioned that she has tried various healing modalities and has found some relief temporarily. But her chronic pain continues to be part of her daily life and is becoming increasing agitating. Angie immediately asked if she has ever tried doing yoga. Susie responded with a sigh, “oh yes…but that was a mistake. I took a Bikram class and tried a flow class, more like a sweat fest at this yoga studio near my house. After both classes my neck was sore for days and I decided to not go back.” When hearing of her negative experience, Angie went on to explain her vast experience of teaching yoga and told Susie that there are so many different kinds of yoga and she may of just tried the wrong one for how she is currently feeling. At that point in the conversation, my name came up and Angie began to tell her about Restroraflow. Angie said she would talk with me and ask me what my opinion was about what she should be doing to help heal this problem. As Angie finished her story, she said I mostly teach classes and don’t have the same experience working with privates and body discomforts. So, “I wanted to know what you think? Any Suggestions?” I first response was that she should tell Susie to get a few private sessions from someone in here local area. She should be doing Restoraflow. I told her to tell Susie to go on my website and learn Serpent Arising Namaskar. In every posture I mentioned she should release her head. Second, I said that she needs to begin to lightly strengthen the surrounding muscles around her neck. As well as having some sessions of pure pranayama and visualization of healing. I decided that because she lived in a different state and I could not meet with her one on one that I would send you some of my Restoraflow material. It has been two months and she has seen a private instructor who is assisting her with learning my Namaskar and restorative poses. She wrote me a letter, saying how much the Namaskar is helping her whole body and she reported having much less pain in her neck. If you have the time in your schedule, are looking to escape on a fabulous, relaxing yoga retreat and learn Restoraflow techniques to add to your teaching repertoire. The radio, television, and internet keep blasting how bad things are. And like programming in a cult, your mind accepts these messages on a subliminal level. As you may know, I travel frequently and I meet Yogis and Yoginis across the country. I also run into fellow yoga nuts on Twitter. And you know what I've found? The people who follow the advice Sara and I give away in this newsletter are succeeding in their dreams of financial balance in being a yoga teacher. The key points we have made are: 1. Start doing private yoga sessions. 2. Put up a website listing the benefits of yoga. 3. Advertise your website using Google PPC and Craigslist. 4. Send us a thank you note. (Just kidding) What were ARE finding is that this formula works. But, most people don't know how to do the Google PPC. Sara and I decided we would offer to build your Google PPC campaign for you for just $250. This will be target for your business and website. If you are interested, call Sandra at my office at 561-395-7400. You'll be amazed at the results. Watch Sting Warm Up For A Concert
