Amazon Loves Me...And I Thank You

I'm writing this from my hotel room in San Francisco.  Tomorrow, the Yoga Journal conference starts.  I'll be doing an all day training with Dharma Mitra tomorrow and over the weekend, I'll be doing a bunch of different sessions with Shiva Rea and other luminaries of the yoga world.

If you've never been to one of these yoga conferences, you must make up your mind to connect with all these great teachers and other members of the yoga community.  This conference is sold out and there are thousands of yogis and yoginis in attendance.

A week ago, I asked you for your suggestions on yoga books to take with me on a little retreat I'm doing.  You guys didn't hold back and made some incredible suggestions.  I bought so many books at Amazon that my yoga library is over flowing.  What book did I take? The Deeper Dimension of Yoga: Theory and Practice by George Feuerstein.

A New Method of Marketing

Newspaper marketing is way too expensive for most yoga teachers.  At any given time, only a tiny fraction of people reading the newspaper have any interest in yoga.

However, there is a way of advertising in most newspapers that can be very cost efficient.  It's called, "Two Step Advertising".

In two step advertising, you place a small ad in the newspaper promising a free report to people who call you.  This places them in touch with you and when you call to follow up after they've gotten the report, you can convert many of these inquiries into buyers.

If you combine this method with Craigslist, you get people to raise their hands and say they are interested and the original ad is free.

So what I've done is give you a 50 page report about diets and weight loss that steers people in the direction of yoga.  You also have the right to put your name on the report and use it as your own.  I've included a sample "Two Step Ad" for you and a Craigslist ad for you in the January paid newsletter.

Where's Sara?

Sara and I have traded places this week.  Last week, she was traveling and I was home sick.  This week, I'm traveling and she's home sick.  She has the flu and had to miss the retreat with Wah! in Costa Rica.  Pray for a speedy recovery.
