Get ready to attain more clients or draw in higher numbers to your studio. There may be a recession and yes the economy is affecting people, however…people do not put a price tag on their health. In the past few months my private business has grown and I have had no clients cut back on their private sessions because of money. I actually had one client switch from three times a week to now doing five times a week. His body was in bad shape and the only thing that has been making a difference for him was doing yoga. He calculated he would be spending a large amount on yoga sessions monthly, but was more than willing to spend the money so he could heal the problems in his body and continue to feel good. Do you think people question how much back surgery is if they need it. No! Most likely they find the best doctor and do what they need to, so that they can feel good again. Don’t allow other people’s negativity about work and the economy assist in sabotaging your positive outlook. When I hear people expressing their views about finances or lack of money and work, I listen politely and respond by saying , ‘’Yes, I feel quite blessed that my business has gone unaffected and continues to be prosperous’’. So, if things have been a little slow for yourself, take on a new attitude of reoccurring abundance and start marketing yourself. This is also the time of year where people are itching to make a change and get started on a new health overhaul. Do you Have a USP? What is your unique selling point? What makes you original and different and how are you going to make yourself stand out? When Harlan first decided to become my marketing Mentor, this was one of his first questions he asked me. My response was “What’s that”? A lot of people do not have this and if you are one of those people, it’ a good time to start thinking of one. This should be included on the materials you advertise for yourself and on your website. For example: My USP is that I only work with private clients. This is how I portray myself on my website. Another important marketing tip to ponder over is what is your target market? My husband was applying to teach a class at a local studio. I was discussing his style of teaching with Harlan and he said to me “what is his target market”? In order for him to get a class, he needs to bring something different to the studio and know who he is targeting. Once I went back to my husband and discussed this with him, it was a totally new concept for him as well. Then he had to really think about what kind people he wanted to draw to his class. When he got clear, it enabled him to discuss in more detail with the studio owner what kind of people (ie: age group, yoga level, etc.) that would be attending his class or how he could be different for the other teacher’s at the studio. This January, kick the year off to a great start with some fresh and creative marketing ideas. Start asking your present clients for referrals, leave your business cards in some of your favorite stores, add a new innovative class to your studio schedule, refresh your website (if you don’t yet have one, get one up) and allow your mind to remain in a positive vibration. If your intention is direct, you are in alignment with your heart, then prosperity and business will flow.
